‘The Sims’ removes gender restrictions for its video game characters

simsLos Angeles (AP) – The creators of “The Sims” are opening up gender customization options for the first time in the long-running history of the popular life simulation video game.

“The Sims” publisher Electronic Arts and developer Maxis said a free update available for “The Sims 4” removes gender boundaries and allows players to create virtual townsfolk – or Sims, as they’re known – with any type of physique, walk style or voice they choose.

Christian game developer creates anti-LGBT shooter game

A Christian video game developer launched an anti-LGBT, first-person shooter game on the gaming website Steam on May 4 before having it pulled down several hours later.

Randall Herman, a failed Christian shoe promoter, and Skateboarder, a California-based game developer, created and released Kill The Faggot, an online video game that awards points for shooting gay and transgender people as they run through a city street.

‘Star Wars’ franchise adds first gay character

The Star Wars franchise will be adding its first gay character into an upcoming novel Lords of the Sith. The character will be an Imperial official named Moff Mors.

Big Shiny Robot, a sci-fi website, describes Mors’ character as “…an Imperial who has made some very serious mistakes but she is an incredibly capable leader and spends much of the book working hard to prevent absolute failure. She also happens to be a lesbian.”
