Actress Sara Gilbert separates from wife, singer Linda Perry

LOS ANGELES (AP) | Actress Sara Gilbert has filed for legal separation from her wife of five years, singer and songwriter Linda Perry.

Gilbert filed the separation documents in Los Angeles Superior Court Dec. 27. The papers cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, and requests that neither woman receive spousal support.

Sara Gilbert will be leaving “The Talk” after season nine.

“The Connors” star made the announcement on the April 9 episode of the talk show. Gilbert has been on the panel since the show’s inception in 2010.

O’Donnell guest hosted on the talk show Sept. 28 alongside “Dancing with the Stars” judge Carrie Ann Inaba. According to Deadline, O’Donnell is being considered to join “The Talk” for good.

Ellen DeGeneres among top Daytime Emmy winners

“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” won the Daytime Emmy Award for best entertainment talk show April 30, 20 years to the day that her character came out as gay on the sitcom “Ellen.”

“She did it because it was the right thing to do,” said Mary Connelly, “Ellen” executive producer, of DeGeneres’ decision to be open about her sexuality and do the same for her character in 1997. DeGeneres was absent and Connelly accepted the award.
