‘The Walking Dead’ actor says he has coronavirus symptoms but hospital can’t test him

Openly gay actor Daniel Newman, best known from the AMC series “The Walking Dead,” took to social media March 20 to address his medical status after fans saw him at the hospital.

“Thanks for all the concern,” Newman wrote on Instagram along with a photo of him in an emergency room. “So here’s what happened. Yes, I was just in Australia with Sam Smith, Dua Lipa and thousands of people from around the world for Mardi Gras Pride. I was exposed to some sick people and I started developing symptoms and then back in the states I was notified someone in our group tested positive for #Covid19. I spent all day calling every urgent care and hospital no one had tests! Finally I found one emergency room that told me my symptoms match and to come in immediately.”

Sam Smith releases acoustic version of latest single, ‘To Die For’

Less than a month after the release of their new single, “To Die For,” singer Sam Smith has debuted a new acoustic version of the song.

Smith dropped the new recording March 13, which features a stripped-down musical accompaniment of piano and cello, along with an “ambient visual” which was filmed and recorded live in Los Angeles. The pop superstar’s vocals are placed front and center in a sentimental performance that evokes their earliest releases.

Sam Smith announced via Twitter Feb. 13 that their third studio album, “To Die For” will be released May 1.

“I’m more proud of this album than anything I’ve ever done,” Smith wrote on Twitter. “I’ve really set myself free the last two years whilst writing this & I hope you can dance and relate to these stories. It’s all for you, always xx.”

NEW YORK (AP) | Sam Smith has declared the pronouns of “they/them” on social media after coming out as non-binary in what the pop star called a “lifetime of being at war with my gender.”

The English “Too Good at Goodbyes” singer was met with thousands of mostly supportive comments, along with some detractors questioned the need to change pronouns, an increasingly common practice both within and outside of the LGBTQ community.

Singer Jackie Evancho may be just shy of her 19th birthday but she’s already had enough of a performance career to last a lifetime. A young woman with a soaring operatic range, Evancho began participating in talent competitions when she was still in the single digits.

Evancho’s big break and greatest exposure came when she placed second during season five of NBC’s hit reality competition show, “America’s Got Talent.” From there Evancho became a popular classical crossover artist, releasing EPs and full-length albums, including 2017’s “Two Hearts” and the upcoming “The Debut,” out in April 2019.
