“He has an outstanding positive outlook on life, on everything in life. He looks at the world with eyes wide open and I just love that about him,” James says.
Chaz, who is a senior management consultant, and James Butler-Young, a lieutenant for the Orlando Police Department, met one night when they were out with their own friends at the Parliament House. Chaz recognized him as the police officer who sometimes worked near the front of the venue, yet he didn’t realize that James caught him and his friend staring while he was trying to figure this out. They later ran into each other and said “hi.” From that point, they were together talking the entire evening.
John Michael Events, Watermark Media and the DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Downtown put on the largest LGBT Wedding Show in Central Florida June 14.
The event played host to more than 100 people who had the chance to meet with 30+ vendors including; caterers, photographers, videographers, florists, DJ’s, cake bakers, ministers and much more.
“It’s no longer just about yourself. You make this lifelong commitment to the person that you love, and you want to make sure you uphold those vows and what you said on that specific day,” said Michael Scott, 27, about how his wedding day changed him and made him feel.
Thomas Lawson and Michael Scott met two and half years ago at the April 2013 grand re-opening of Savoy Orlando. The pair tied the knot on Jan. 6.
