Tampa couple’s ‘Captain Marvel’ proposal goes viral

TAMPA | Tampa’s John Chambrone and fiance Richard Owen went viral Oct. 12 after getting engaged during an ACE Comic Con photo op in Illinois with “Captain Marvel” actress Brie Larson.

Chambrone, a longtime comic book fan, is the president of Bear Soup Tampa and entertainment chair for Tampa Pride. He and Owen, a CNA who will begin nursing school in the spring, met in May and saw Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” on their first official date.

Happy birthday, Jack! He’s just turned five years old; he’s lived his entire life locked up in a tiny room. His mother has been here seven years, captive of Old Nick. Old Nick is a sicko who built this soundproof trap in his backyard just so he could kidnap and keep a girl prisoner.

To say that Room is harrowing is an understatement. This powerful indie film is the perfect balance of tense, heartwarming, violent, ugly, beautiful, cruel, frightening, and redemptive. It’s the type of tiny movie that shocks audiences, what even the smallest stories can accomplish.

Screened Out – Trainwreck

Amy Schumer, Bill Hader, LeBron James, Tilda Swinton, Colin Quinn, Brie Larson, Vanessa Bayer, John Cena, Daniel Radcliff, Marisa Tomei

Schumer’s first movie lead definitely proves she has a future in acting. However, it doesn’t completely show how great a writer she usually is.

Especially in the first half, there’s some great comedy – the smart, self-deprecating, and profane hilariousness we come to expect from her TV show Inside Amy Schumer (which she also writes). Trainwreck, though, ends up waaaay less edgy than her Comedy Central gig. Underneath all the reckless trappings, this flick, directed by Judd Apatow, is actually a very traditional – and somewhat disappointing – romantic comedy.
