Teaser trailer to Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ starring Rami Malek released

A teaser trailer for the highly anticipated “Bohemian Rhapsody” biopic was released May 15, featuring “Mr. Robot” actor Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury reincarnate.

The film, which hits theaters Nov. 2, chronicles the British rock band Queen and lead vocalist Mercury’s rise to stardom. The film culminates with the Live Aid concert of 1985, “one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music,” the official movie synopsis states.

Malek, 37, is tasked with embodying the flamboyant stage presence of Mercury, complete with Mercury’s iconic aviator sunglasses and white tank top.

Mercury died on Nov. 24, 1991, due to complications from AIDS, a disease he announced to the public about a day before his death, according to Freddie Mercury’s official website.

Queen was added to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. The band is known for hits such as opera-rock mashup “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You” and “Another One Bites the Dust.”

In 2010, Sacha Baron Cohen was slated to play Mercury in the film but left three years later due to “creative differences” with former Queen members, according to The Guardian.

The film also stars Mike Myers, Ben Hardy and Joseph Mazzello, among others.
