St. Petersburg’s Flamingo Resort has announced “Tampa Bay Drag Race,” a seven-week competition coming in November.
“Who has what it takes to become the next drag superstar?” the establishment’s advertisement asked, noting that the grand prize winner will receive $2,500 cash—and the event will offer $4,000 in cash and prizes.
“Come on local drag Superstars!” the resort’s Jeff Beadle shared via social media. “The prizes are still being determined, and we’ll easily surpass the $4,000 that [our] ad is showing. Apply to be a part of this, or for all the local folks, tell your favorite queen that you want to see them compete!”
“I’m not kidding when I say we have not seen anything like this in the Tampa Bay area,” Beadle concluded, “and each week the theme/challenges are crazy fun!”
