Lily Tomlin first openly gay performer to receive SAG Life Achievement Award

Lily Tomlin will join Hollywood legends such as Carol Burnett, Bette White and Elizabeth Taylor as actresses awarded the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Life Achievement Award at their next ceremony.

Tomlin will be the first openly gay entertainer to receive this award.

Tomlin’s career spans five decades and includes memorable performances in films like 9 to 5, Nashville and All of Me. She was most recently nominated for two Golden Globes, one for Best Actress in a Comedic Film for Grandma and another for Best Actress in a TV Series – Comedy for Grace and Frankie.

The award recognizes Tomlin’s career achievements and humanitarian accomplishments.

Tomlin will accept the prize during the SAG Awards, which will air Jan. 29. Tomlin will perform at the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 4.
