Campbell’s soup gay dads cast in new HBO series

M’m! M’m! Good for you guys.

Larry Sullivan and David Monahan, the two dads who took the internet by storm (and pissed off a million or so moms) with a Star Wars-themed Campbell’s soup commercial, have signed on to join the cast of HBO’s limited series Big Little Lies.

Big Little Lies is based on Liane Moriarty’s 2014 dark comic novel about three mothers of kindergartners whose seemingly perfect lives are disrupted by murder. It will star Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Shailene Woodley.

Sullivan and Monahan will play a married couple with a child at the same elementary school as the three mothers.

Sullivan and Monahan have both had steady careers in television, Sullivan as Will’s ballet dancing boyfriend on Will & Grace and Monahan with recurring roles on both Dawson’s Creek and Crossing Jordan, but they achieved worldwide attention after having their real life family cast in the Campbell’s soup commercial.

The commercial featured Sullivan and Monahan with their son doing Star Wars impersonations in order to get their son to eat his soup. The commercial went viral and led to the couple earning spots on PEOPLE Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” list.

HBO has not set a premiere date for Big Little Lies at this time.
