Extra-gay Festivus pole will be on display at Florida Capitol this year

Festivus is back at the Florida Capitol… and it’s going gay this year.

The Florida Department of Management Services Dec. 10 approved Chaz Stevens’ application asking to set up the Festivus display for the third year in a row.

This year, the Deerfield Beach blogger’s request was for a “Rainbow gay edition” display. Usually, Stevens’ Festivus pole is a 6-foot stack of empty beer cans with a disco ball on top. We’ll have to wait and see what the rainbow gay version entails – the image above is Watermark’s speculative artist rendering.

Festivus (for the rest of us) is a fictional holiday created on the sitcom Seinfeld. Celebrated Dec. 23, it’s a day for airing grievances and performing feats of strength.

The pole is permitted at the Florida Capitol Dec. 21-28.
