80’s series “Hart To Hart” getting gay couple remake on NBC

The network that brought you Will & Grace is looking to create the next big gay-themed show, and this time it’s a remake.

NBC looks likely to be the home for a Hart To Hart remake, according to Deadline Sept. 15.

“Written by Christopher Fife (Revenge, Private Practice), based on the Sidney Sheldon-created original, the new Hart To Hart is described as a modern and sexy retelling of the classic series that focuses on “by the book” attorney Jonathan Hart and free-spirited investigator Dan Hartman, who must balance the two sides of their life: action-packed crime-solving in the midst of newly found domesticity,” reported Deadline.

The original Hart To Hart, which aired on ABC, began in 1979 and starred Robert Wagner and Stephanie Powers as a wealthy couple working as amateur detectives solving crimes. The series ran for five seasons and spawned eight made-for-TV movies.

No word yet on who will play the mystery solving couple.
