Vermont trooper accused of ‘anti-gay’ Facebook posts resigns

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) – A Vermont State Police trooper accused of posting intolerant comments on social media while off-duty has resigned.

The state police say it accepted the resignation of Cpl. Jon Graham of the Rockingham barracks on April 30.

The Facebook posts were brought to the attention of the state police on April 24 by a citizen who thought they were racist and anti-gay.

The state police said that many of the posts violated the department’s social media policy and were alleged violations of the state police’s code of conduct.

The Facebook page has since been taken down.

Graham could not be reached for comment.
