Central Florida celebrates the National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day

Safe sex may be an awkward conversation for some parents to have with their kids, but for those taking part in National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day (NYHAAD) on April 10, it’s a must.

The day, which targets those age 13-24, encourages getting tested, having a discussion about the virus and spreading information about how it affects the younger generation.

Here are some of the Central Florida locations that are hosting NYHAAD events:

  • Zebra Coalition, 3-7 p.m.
  • Bethune-Cookman University, noon

Free HIV screenings include:

  • Help Us Help U, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Bula Cafe, 1-3:30 p.m.
  • YES St. Pete Office, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Wildwood Park & Rec, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • DACCO Main Office, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Ybor Youth Clinic, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
