One down, one to go?

An anti-transgender “bathroom bill” has failed in Kentucky.

The bill, filed by Sen. CB Embry, would banned students statewide from using a restroom that doesn’t correspond to their “biological sex” and offered a $2,500 reward to people reporting violators.

A similar bill has been moving through Florida’s House committees. The Florida bill has no reward but opens businesses up to lawsuits for failing to police bathrooms to keep anyone from using a restroom that doesn’t correspond to his or her “biological sex.”

The Kentucky bill passed the Republican-controlled Senate, but failed in Kentucky’s House of Representatives, which is Democrat-controlled.

The Florida bill has not yet been placed on an agenda for its third and final committee hearing before it is voted on by the entire House.
