Governor Rick Scott was narrowly re-elected in November after a contentious and mud-slinging campaign against Charlie Crist. Also re-elected was Pam Bondi, who has continued her fight against the removal of the state’s ban on same-sex marriages.

Miami-Dade approves trans protections
In November, after eight hours of public comments, Miami-Dade County approved protections for transgender residents. The county is the largest in the state.
