Dunk tank, games raise money for ASAP
The Flamingo Resort was the home of several unique fundraising opportunities for the AIDS Service Association of Pinellas, thanks to the Tampa Bay leather community. During the weekend of July 11, the resort’s Wet and Wild Weekend featured performances by show staff and guests, boot blacks and leather contests Friday and Saturday night. On Sunday, the resort provided a dunk tank where members of the Sisters of Perpetual indulgence, DJs, and other notables in the community took turns to get soaked for charity. It cost only $5 for three throws, and if anyone hit the target, the unlucky volunteer fell into 5-feet of chilly water, which was actually refreshing considering the temperatures reached the 90s on July 13. More than $500 was raised for ASAP and Mr. Code 2014 Woodie Barnes welcomed attendees and thanked them for their generosity from throughout the weekend.

Lesbians reunited!
The folks behind the G2H2 (Gay Guys Happy Hour) in Sarasota are bringing back it’s lesbian counterpart, L2H2 (Lesbian Ladies Happy Hour) this month! On Thursday, July 17, the grand re-opening of the group cascaded upon Tsunami Sushi and Hibachi Grill for a reunion of sorts. The women-only event gives lesbians a chance to meet and mingle in a business-style atmosphere and make business connections and new friends in Sarasota. The free event featured a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and complimentary appetizers. For more info on future events, visit the L2H2 Facebook page, where updates are provided monthly.
