COWP organizers estimate 110,000 will pack downtown for Orlando Pride

Orlando – Come Out With Pride organizers are predicting 110,000 people will attend the Oct. 5 festivities, which would be a record-breaking crowd size.

It was estimated that for COWP 2012, 100,000 atttended. Of the predicted 110,000, organizers estimate 30% will be straight allies and families.

“Our Parade is the largest we have had since Come Out With Pride was created 9 years ago,” said COWP executive director Mikael Audebert in a media release. “And this year, we are honored to have several large corporations participate and show their Pride & Support.”

Those corporations include: Lockheed Martin, Siemens, Nike, New York Life, EA Sports, Jet Blue.

In addition, the Boy Scouts of America will be marching in the parade for the first time. Another first is happening on the main stage, where Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs will speak for the first time at COWP.
