HaitiAbstr_708455424.jpgA number of organizations are heading up LGBT-specific relief efforts to aid earthquake victims in Haiti. Here is a list of ways you can help.

Rainbow World Fund
What: an all-volunteer international humanitarian service agency based in the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and friends community.
Mission: to promote LGBT philanthropy in the area of world humanitarian relief.
Donations accepted online via paypal, or by check – see link above for details. Note: must specify “Haiti” when donating online.

Red Cross
What: LGBT Americans for Earthquake Relief in Haiti Campaign
Mission: to reach beyond our borders with a message of hope and goodwill from LGBT Americans.
Paypal not necessary for online donations. Credit card and Amazon payments accepted.

SAVE Dade
What: an organized LGBT community-wide response to this human catastrophe, local to Florida.
Mission: to promote, protect and defend equality for people in Miami-Dade County who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender.
Fund set up in partnership with Dade Community Foundation. Donations accepted via PayPal or mailed check. Printable donation form available.

Cruise for relief
What: Atlantis, Olivia, and RSVP Vacations are joining forces with others in the community to raise funds for Haiti.
The cruise companies are initiating a pledge drive with all their past, current, and booked for future departures passengers to donate money to the effort, matching donations with corporate contributions.
