Baltimore man charged in trans woman Zoe Spears’ murder

Prince George’s County Police announced on July 18 that they have charged a 33-year-old Baltimore man with first-degree murder for the June 13 shooting death of transgender woman Zoe Spears, 23, on a street in Fairmount Heights, Md., just across the D.C. border.

At a news conference at P.G. County Police Headquarters, Commander Brian Reilly, who oversees the department’s Homicide Unit, said police arrested Geraldo Thomas July 17 in Baltimore City. He said Thomas was being held without bond.

Man with gun threatens transgender women in DC

The Metropolitan Police Department says a man with a gun threatened transgender women near Casa Ruby on June 15.

A police report the Washington Blade obtained notes officers received a call about a man with a gun.

Second transgender woman killed in Fairmount Heights

A transgender woman was killed in Fairmount Heights, a suburb of Washington, D.C., on June 13.

Major Brian Reilly of the Prince George’s County Police Department told reporters during a press briefing on June 14 that 911 received a call “for a check on the welfare” on the 600 block of 59th Avenue near Eastern Avenue just before midnight.
