Stephen Ross, chairman of real estate company Related Companies, is facing backlash for hosting a fundraiser for President Donald Trump’s reelection at Ross’ home in the Hamptons on Friday.

Related Companies owns luxury fitness club Equinox Fitness, the parent company to fitness clubs PURE Yoga, Blink Fitness and SoulCycle. Ross is also the owner of the Miami Dolphins, the Hard Rock Stadium, the Time Warner Center and Hudson Yards.

Bandwagon builds for LGBTQ diversity on children’s TV

NEW YORK (AP) | Wilson Cruz, a co-star in the new Hulu animated children’s series “The Bravest Knight,” describes the show’s dad couple this way: “We’re not explaining homosexuality, or same-gender sexuality. We’re talking about the love of a family.”

His words and those of his fellow Hulu father, T.R. Knight, speak loudly about the state of LGBTQ representation in TV fare for kids, a segment of media that has been broadening story lines over the last several years to include a range of non-binary characters.

GLAAD Media Awards 2018 releases nominees

The 29th annual GLAAD Media Awards announced its 2018 nominees at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday via Trace Lysette (“Transparent”) and Wilson Cruz (“Star Trek: Discovery”).

Netflix raked in the most nominations for television with seven nominations. ABC, CBS and NBC came in at a close second with six nominations. This was also the first time the category Outstanding Kids & Family Programming was introduced which recognizes “Andi Mack,” and “Doc McStuffins,” among others, for their LGBT inclusion.

Rapp says he chose to come forward with his allegation after witnessing numerous women share their stories of sexual harassment in the industry.

“Star Trek: Discovery” aired a gay male kiss on Sunday’s episode marking a monumental moment for the “Star Trek” franchise.

In the scene, Lt. Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and his partner Dr Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) shared their first on-screen kiss of the season. It is the first gay male kiss to appear in a “Star Trek” movie or show.

At the 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards, Lena Waithe became the first black woman to win the award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

The Emmy was awarded for an episode of Netflix’s show Master of None. She co-wrote the season two episode titled “Thanksgiving” with show co-creator Aziz Ansari, which chronicled her experience coming out as a lesbian to her family.
