Cyndi Lauper, Ciara among WorldPride opening ceremony line-up

WorldPride has unveiled its opening ceremony line-up at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 26 from 7-10 p.m.

Pop legend Cyndi Lauper, R&B songstress Ciara, singer/YouTuber Todrick Hall and New York City-based DJ Lina are all on the bill to perform at the benefit concert. More acts are expected to be announced closer to the date.

“Liberal Redneck” Trae Crowder talks about his ties to the LGBTQ community and incoming tour

Trae Crowder, the 31-year-old comedian better known as the “Liberal Redneck,” gained national notoriety after he and his southern drawl supported transgender rights in April 2016.

He’d been a stand-up comedian for nearly six years at the time, but it was his condemnation of North Carolina’s bigoted HB2 “bathroom bill” that thrust him into the viral video spotlight. That first video, originally uploaded to his personal Facebook page, has garnered over 980,000 YouTube views to date. In total, his hot takes have drawn over 50 million.

ABC releases trailer for miniseries on history of LGBTQ rights

The trailer for the ABC miniseries When We Rise has been released and it looks epic.

When We Rise is a chronicled re-telling of the LGBTQ rights movement in the United States, beginning with the Stonewall riots in 1969 and up to present day. The miniseries was created for ABC by the director and screenwriter from 2008’s Harvey Milk biopic Milk, Gus Van Sant and Dustin Lance Black, respectively.

Whoopi Goldberg bringing transgender model series to Oxygen Network
