Chicago police: Jussie Smollett assault case has ‘shifted’

CHICAGO (AP) | Chicago police said Saturday the investigation into the assault reported by Jussie Smollett has “shifted” due to information received from two brothers questioned in the case, and attorneys for the “Empire” actor blasted reports alleging he played a role in his own attack.

Chicago police had arrested, then released the two Nigerian brothers without charges late Feb. 15 and said they were no longer suspects in the attack.

Alaska Airlines asks gay couple to make room for straight couple or to get off the plane

Alaska Airlines is in clean-up mode after a gay couple was asked to move seats on one of its flights to make room for a straight couple that wanted to sit together.

David Cooley, CEO and founder of The Abbey Food and Bar and The Chapel at the Abbey in West Hollywood, took to Facebook to express his anger with the airline.

Two LGBTQ contestants cast on ‘Big Brother’

ORLANDO | On Monday, the cast for the 20th season of ‘Big Brother’ was revealed, and two of the sixteen new contestants are proudly representing the LGBTQ community on the show this summer.

Kaycee Clark, 30, is a professional football player from San Diego, California. She has played in the Women’s Football Alliance for the San Diego Surge for six of the past eight seasons and currently lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Kevin Spacey’s sexual assault case under review by LA prosecutors

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Special Victims Bureau is reviewing a sexual assault allegation against Kevin Spacey.

According to CNN, the LASD reports that the allegations involved an adult male and took place in West Hollywood in 1992. The case has been under review since December 2017.

John Barrowman, known for his roles on “Arrow” and “Doctor Who,” blasted Target for refusing to let him purchase items for a homeless man.

The out actor posted a video on Twitter claiming that he attempted to buy a homeless man a $40 gift card, jacket and shirt at a Target in West Hollywood. Barrowman says he was “lectured” by a staff member that he couldn’t make the purchase.

RPDR’s Trinity attacked!

In “Trump’s America,” it’s always a tough call when there’s an assault on anyone in the LGBTQ community to not assume it’s a hate crime, but this time in L.A., the hate seems pretty clear.

The incident was reported as a late night attack on March 16 in West Hollywood. The victims of this crime included photographer Jason King and RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 9 cast members Valentina and Orlando’s very own Trinity Taylor.
