Chelsea Manning seemed to officially kick off her new life in a profile piece for Vogue’s September 125th Anniversary Collector’s Edition issue.

Manning, who served seven years in prison for leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks, sported a red, one-piece swimsuit for the upcoming issue in a photo shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Vogue is under fire from critics who took offense that the fashion magazine has declared Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik “gender fluid” for sharing each other’s clothes.

In the couple’s joint cover story, Hadid and Malik share that they are flexible when it comes to fashion and have no problem dipping into the other’s closet.

Dietrich exhibit honors gender-bending film icon

Interestingly it was not Marlene Dietrich’s status as an icon of early film that appealed most to Kate Lemay, curator of a new National Portrait Gallery exhibit on the star, but rather her penchant for extreme gender bending.

Lemay tells a story of Dietrich being photographed at a Paris train station in 1933. She’d been told she could be arrested for wearing pants but she wore them anyway. And not just pants — she donned a men’s tweed suit, sunglasses and beret.

British Vogue appoints first gay, male editor-in-chief

Edward Enninful has been named editor-in-chief of British Vogue, Condé Nast announced on Monday.

Enninful, 45, will succeed Alexandra Shulman for the position. The job brings a series of firsts to the publication. Enninful will be the first male editor, first black editor and the first openly gay editor to helm the magazine.

Dolce & Gabbana release handbags, t-shirts celebrating same-sex families

After making derogatory comments about children of same-sex couples, Dolce & Gabbana have done a 180 and released handbags and t-shirts celebrating same-sex couples and families.

The designing duo released three photos on their Instagram account Jan. 29. The photos depict simple drawings of a same-sex couple, one featuring men and the other women, with several multi-racial children on a handbag. A third picture features similar artwork on t-shirts. The posts are accompanied with #dgfamily.
