Taylor Swift, Janet Mock to be honored by GLAAD

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Taylor Swift and writer-director-producer Janet Mock will be honored at the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards for their advocacy for LGBTQ issues.

The pop star will receive the Vanguard Award, which is presented to allies who have made a significant difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people. Mock, who is best known for her work on the FX series “Pose,” will receive the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, presented to a LGBTQ media professional.

Beyoncé and JAY-Z were honored with the Vanguard Award at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards on March 29 in Los Angeles. The Vanguard Award “is presented to media professionals who have made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people.”

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum Shangela gave a lip-sync performance to a medley of Beyoncé’s hits including “Bootylicious,” “Partition,” “Single Ladies” and “Flawless.” Beyoncé could be seen cheering in the crowd and gave Shangela a standing ovation.

Demi Lovato’s GLAAD fundraiser raises thousands of dollars in hours

Demi Lovato started a Facebook fundraiser to raise money for GLAAD and within a few hours the fundraiser had reached beyond its targeted goal.

“I’m celebrating Pride by raising money for GLAAD, an organization that has been fighting for LGBTQ+ inclusion and justice since 1985,” Lovato posted on Twitter.
