LAS VEGAS (AP) | Authorities are searching for a suspect who vandalized a Las Vegas community center serving LGBTQ people.

Las Vegas police say a man spray-painted a homophobic slur in black letters on the glass doors of the LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada on Thursday morning.

St. Petersburg LGBTQ-affirming church vandalized

ST. PETERSBURG | Allendale United Methodist Church (UMC) shared Sept. 24 that the LGBTQ-affirming church had been vandalized.

“Allendale was again the target of vandalism,” UMC shared via social media. “LGBTQ people are more likely to be targets of hate crimes than any other minority group. We will leave the spray paint up, surrounded by signs of love, to make visible the often invisible harm that the LGBTQ community receives every day.”

Shots fired at Tulsa, Oklahoma Equality Center

The Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, an LGBT center located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was the target of serious vandalism on Monday morning when a white, four-door truck drove past and fired 13 pellet shots into the building.

Surveillance video footage shows that the attack occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Monday morning.

Gay candidate calls vandalism of Iowa home a hate crime

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — An openly gay candidate for Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors is calling vandalism to his house a hate crime.

Candidate Christopher Schwartz told the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier that anti-gay messages were painted on campaign signs in his yard and the door of his house. The message on his door reads “Lev 20:13,” which likely is a reference to a Bible verse that condemns homosexuality.
