Shots fired at Tulsa, Oklahoma Equality Center

The Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, an LGBT center located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was the target of serious vandalism on Monday morning when a white, four-door truck drove past and fired 13 pellet shots into the building.

Surveillance video footage shows that the attack occurred around 12:20 a.m. on Monday morning.

Oklahoma couple asks Supreme Court to hear same-sex marriage case

TULSA, Okla. (AP) – Lawyers for a same-sex Tulsa couple seeking the right to marry in Oklahoma have filed a petition with the U.S. Supreme Court asking the court to take up their case.

The couple, Sharon Baldwin and Mary Bishop, sued Tulsa County Clerk Sally Howe Smith for failing to issue them a marriage license shortly after voters in Oklahoma approved a ban on same-sex marriage in 2004.

9 years later, marrage equality lawsuit still pending

Tulsa, Okla. (AP) – Two same-sex couples who sued for the right to marry in conservative Oklahoma knew it would be a struggle, but they couldn’t have expected that nine years later, they would still be awaiting their day in court.

Their federal lawsuit is the longest-running active lawsuit against the Defense of Marriage Act, according to national gay marriage advocacy group Freedom to Marry.
