“Transparent” has released a teaser trailer for season four that checks in on the Pfefferman family.

The trailer shows Shelly (Judith Light) participating in an acting class and youngest daughter Ali (Gaby Hoffmann) giving Maura (Jeffrey Tambor) a weed gummy bear.

‘Moonlight’ gay kiss nominated for MTV Movie & TV Award

“Moonlight” continues to rack up award show credentials with three nominations for the MTV Movie & TV Awards including Best Kiss.

The Academy Award Best Picture winner is nominated for Best Kiss for the intimate scene between actors Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome as teens Chiron and Kevin. “Moonlight” was also nominated for Best American Story as the only film in the category. It will battle it out against “Transparent,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” ‘Blackish” and “Jane the Virgin.”

‘Moonlight,’ ‘Transparent’ win at GLAAD Media Awards

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) – The Oscar winner “Moonlight” has won again, taking best film at the 28th annual GLAAD Media Awards.

Barry Jenkins’ coming-of-age portrait was honored by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation at the awards held Saturday at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Cast of ‘Transparent’ releases PSA to support Gavin Grimm

The ACLU and the cast of “Transparent” have partnered together for a PSA in support of Gavin Grimm and for the inclusion of transgender rights in Title IX, which prohibits sex discrimination.

Although Grimm’s lawsuit against Gloucester High School’s school board over their refusal to allow him to use the boys’ restroom was sent back to the federal appeals court, the ACLU is encouraging people to continue to support transgender individuals.

Tampa Bay Times, ‘Love Is Love’ comic among GLAAD Media Award nominees

LOS ANGELES (AP) – GLAAD announced the 2017 Media Award nominees Jan. 31, and the list includes local and national projects done in the aftermath of the Pulse shooting.

“Worthy of Survival,” Kathleen McGrory’s Tampa Bay Times story on survivor Angel Santiago and Love Is Love, the IDW Publishing and DC Comics’ graphic novel tribute to the 49 victims, were among the nominees.

‘Transparent’ creator among those honored for advocacy

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) – Emmy winners Tony Hale, Jill Soloway and Derek Hough have a prestigious addition to their trophy cases. The trio was among the honorees at the second annual Television Advocacy Awards.

The pre-Emmy ceremony organized by TV Guide, TV Insider and the entertainment industry advocacy group Creative Coalition honors stars for their dedication to charitable work.

Kate McKinnon, Sarah Paulson finally win at Emmy Awards

Saturday Night Live‘s Kate McKinnon and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story‘s Sarah Paulson took home their first Emmy trophy after multiple nominations at the 2016 Emmy Awards Sept. 18.

Paulson, who was also nominated for her supporting role in American Horror Story: Hotel, represented one of five of the Emmy trophies taken home by the Ryan Murphy miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

68th Annual Emmy Nominations announced, 10 nominations for “Transparent”

The 68th Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced the morning of July 14, with Amazon Prime’s show Transparent collecting 10, including “Outstanding Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.”

Transparent focuses on Maura Pfefferman’s (played by Jeffery Tambor) journey as an older transgender woman and her relationship with her family and with herself. The series won five Emmy Awards in 2015 out of the 11 it was nominated for.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) – Jeffrey Tambor says Maura Pfefferman, his transgender character in “Transparent,” would be envious of the attention Caitlyn Jenner’s getting.

“You bet,” Tambor told a TV critics’ Q&A session Aug. 3. “Maura loves a red carpet and loves a party. Definitely, that’s something she would really like.”

Transgender teen’s death stirs action in US and beyond

CINCINNATI (AP) – Leelah Alcorn wrote a note on her Tumblr blog, then walked through the night and into the path of a tractor-trailer rumbling down a highway. In the final message attributed to her, she pleaded: “My death needs to mean something. … Fix society. Please.”

Although many details about her life and tragic end are still unclear, the transgender Ohio 17-year-old became, within days of her death Dec. 28, the new face of a growing movement of people hungering for acceptance.
