On a hot summer day after a long trial, a jury must decide whether a 19-year-old man is guilty of murdering his father. The jury votes 11-1 that the man is guilty of the crime, but laws in the United States require a unanimous vote by all 12 jurors in order to pass judgment. Tempers flare as the eleven jurors try their best to convince the 1 dissenter to come around to their side. As the evidence is re-examined, however, new uncertainties come to light, forcing everyone to truly question if there is in fact some measure of “reasonable doubt”. Twelve Angry Men is a heightened courtroom thriller that puts you on the edge of your site while powerfully exploring what it means to live in a democracy.

Orlando’s Eve is an immersive adventure through the historic streets of Downtown Orlando, highlighted by an interactive theater experience that culminates in a roaring 1920’s party at a secret speakeasy.

The evening features live music, dinner and drinks, as well as burlesque and vaudeville performances. Live music and dancing with Brown Bag Brass Band, and very special performance by Tymisha Harris (from award winning Josephine) will round out the evening. Orlando’s Eve interactive performances are being directed by Tim Williams of Orlando Shakes.

The evening begins at the Downtown Orange County Regional History Center where you will pick up clues and follow to historic locations around downtown. This is a great opportunity to explore a little of Orlando’s History before the adventure starts…

After the History Center, the immersive journey begins as you set off to arrive at different locations around Downtown, meeting historical figures from Orlando’s past along the way. Here you will interact with them, and collect clues that will eventually lead you to the ‘secret speakeasy party’. Gather up all of the clues, figure out the location and speakeasy password, and get inside for a fun-filled roaring 20’s party featuring a dinner buffet, delicious cocktails, live music and more.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Avrio Foundation. The Avrio Foundation supports projects relating to downtown Orlando beautification, activation, connectivity, and place-making.

The renowned comic actor and author of Picasso at the Lapine Agile provides a wild satire adapted from the classic German play about Louise and Theo Markes, a couple whose conservative existence is shattered when Louise’s bloomers fall down in public. Though she pulls them up quickly, he thinks the incident will cost him his job as a government clerk. Louise’s momentary display does not result in the feared scandal but it does attract two infatuated men, each of whom wants to rent the spare room in the Markes’ home. Oblivious of their amorous objectives, Theo splits the room between them, happy to collect rent from both the foppish poet and the whiny hypochondriac.

OF THEE I SING

This all-American political satire focuses on the election campaign and Presidency of John P. Watergreen, whose party, lacking a viable platform, runs on love, promising that if elected he will marry the partner chosen for him at an Atlantic City beauty pageant. When he falls for the wrong woman, trouble begins! With politicians skewered right and left, Of Thee I Sing is a hilarious and timeless send-up of national institutions that is as relevant now as ever.
