‘The Bachelorette’ and new fiance ready to move forward

NEW YORK (AP) | ABC’s “Bachelorette” Becca Kufrin and her new fiance, Garrett Yrigoyen, hope to move forward after controversy.

Shortly after the season premiere, it was discovered that Yrigoyen had liked Instagram posts that mocked transgender people, feminists and Parkland, Florida, shooting survivor David Hogg. He responded quickly by deleting the account and apologizing, describing the likes as “mindless taps.”

“The Bachelor” apologizes for anti-gay remarks

LOS ANGELES (AP) – The star of ABC’s “The Bachelor” made anti-gay comments that drew a swift rebuke from the network and an apology from the bachelor himself.

Juan Pablo Galavis told website The TV Page that he didn’t think a gay or bisexual bachelor would set a good example for kids. Galavis also told the site Jan. 17 that gays were more “pervert, in a sense,” adding that he could be mistaken.
