Ricky Martin witnessed WGN Chicago reporter Ana Belaval have a fan meltdown on-air over him after interviewing the star via satellite.

Martin was doing promotion for “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” in an interview with the anchors at WGN Chicago when Belaval was patched in at the end to ask about his recovery efforts in Puerto Rico.

Gianni Versace’s family calls FX series ‘fiction,’ network responds

Family members of the late Gianni Versace have slammed FX’s “The Assassination of Gianni Versace,” the “American Crime Story” installment about the fashion designer’s murder, calling it a “work of fiction” and claiming they had no involvement in the making of the series.

“The Versace family has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series about the death of Mr. Gianni Versace,” the family said in a statement. “Since Versace did not authorize the book on which it is partly based nor has it taken part in the writing of the screenplay, this TV series should only be considered as a work of fiction.”

Ricky Martin defends Versace murder drama as respectful

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Ricky Martin said he reassured Gianni Versace’s longtime partner Antonio D’Amico that the pair will be treated respectfully in a TV drama about Versace’s 1997 murder.

“I’ll make sure people fall in love with your relationship with Gianni,” Martin, who plays D’Amico in FX’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, recounted telling him.
