Jason Donnelly has deep roots in Orlando. He graduated from Dr. Phillips High School during the creation of ‘NSYNC and, as most of us have done, worked for the Mouse.

Jason met his husband, Chad Lewis, at the Parliament House during a run of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The couple moved to California to be closer to Chad’s family some years later. When it was time for their wedding ceremony, they returned to Orlando for a ceremony at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater Festival officiated by good friends Beth Marshall and Michael Wanzie.

St Pete Pride Parade

The LGBT Pride Parade will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 in St Pete. The Saturday night Block Party begins at 5pm, with the Parade kicking off at Sunset. To purchase Glamstand tickets, click here.

The LGBT Pride Parade, held within the Historic Kenwood Neighborhood and Grand Central District, features more than 150 organizations and businesses and over 4,500 marchers supporting and celebrating the Tampa Bay LGBT community. The Parade draws more than 200,000 people in total, making it the large LGBT Pride Parade in Florida and largest overall in St Petersburg. The Saturday Block Party begins at 5:00 p.m., held between 22nd Street and 27th Street along Central Avenue, featuring DJs, food and beverages. The Parade will roll off at Sunset.

Transgender advocates rally in support of Target

Orlando – Target has gotten a lot of heat over the company’s transgender-inclusive restroom policies, but some local LGBT supporters want the company to know they “Stand With Target.”

About 25 people rallied June 1 at the Grant St. Target just south of downtown Orlando to thank Target for publicly supporting transgender customers’ and employees’ rights to use the restroom that aligns with their gender identity. The group cheered each person who came to shop and presented each shopper with a flower.

Tampa Bay AIDS Walk and Fun Run has big turn out

AIDS Service Association of Pinellas (ASAP) and Empath Health hosted the 12th annual AIDS Walk Tampa Bay at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg Dec. 12.

More than 1,000 people participated in the walk, which began with a new Fun Run. Early reports from ASAP say they raised $135,000 and with  donations still coming in that number will climb.

Madonna reacts to Dolce & Gabbana comments

Madonna took to Instagram on March 18 to react to recent comments made by fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana about the traditional family and in vitro fertilization. Madonna, who previously worked with Dolce and Gabbana, used an image from a campaign with Dolce and Gabbana in 2010 in which she holds a baby.
