“We met like most,” Dawn Greene says about meeting her wife Christye Greene. “Online. She messaged me. She had a 10-mile radius search on her profile and thankfully I had used a different city in my profile, because at the time we met we were 30 miles apart. She says I was the only girl she messaged.”

Dawn, formerly Koch, is from Boise, Idaho, and Christye is from Lexington, Ky. “I decided to take her name and am now officially Mrs. Dawn Greene,” she says. “For me that was an easy decision, as a way to close the book on my previous life and move forward with my wife.”

“I was vacationing in Trinidad [in the Caribbean],” Shiva Nataraj-Allen shares about when he first thought of marrying his now-husband Randy Nataraj-Allen. “I was having a tough time sleeping and really missed Randy. That’s when I knew he was the one. This was in October 2014; when I got back Randy said he couldn’t get me off his mind. The rest is history.”

“He was constantly on my mind, every moment of the day,” Randy says.

St. Pete Pride’s Red & Green Party raises more than $18,000 for local LGBTQ non-profits

St. Pete Pride’s annual Red & Green Party was a hit even before the first string of tinsel was hung from a tree or the first guest showed up dressed in their best holiday garb Dec. 3.

The event, held at the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg, sold out long before Saturday as more than 400 of the community’s “closet friends” gathered to celebrate the holidays with light bites, open bar and some of the best entertainment this side of the North Pole.

Santa Speedo Run still seeking donations
With just two and a half weeks to go, participants in the Santa Speedo Run benefitting ASAP are seeking donors to fund the Dec. 9 charity fun run. Organizers hope to raise $50,000 with this year’s run, which will be held in Ybor City at 2 p.m. Donations can be made through individual runners by searching by name at SantaSpeedoRun.org.
