ORLANDO | The LGBT+ Center of Central Florida celebrated its 40th anniversary with a concert at The Plaza Live on Nov. 3.

The Studio 54-themed event was hosted by Jorge Estevez and featured showstopping musical and dance numbers by the Orlando Gay Chorus, a sensual burlesque dance from VarieTEASE’s Blue Star, Tymisha Harris and the Ladyboys’ Gadiel Vazquez, hysterical drag by Gidget Galore and a once-in-a-lifetime special performance from one of the queens of disco, Martha Wash.

Huge stash of Madonna’s stuff from the 80s up for auction in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (AP) – Long before Newsweek called her a “tarted-up floozy,” way before she married and had babies and adopted babies, and a lifetime before she opened an Instagram account, Madonna was a young woman in New York, hanging out with her gay best friend and trying to make it big.

That ambition – and a good bit of innocence – can be seen in a collection of photos, art and drawings that are on the auction block Feb. 9 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
