ORLANDO | The Metropolitan Business Association celebrated 25 years, as well as the recognition of being named the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce’s Chamber of the Year, at their annual Pride Gala Business Awards for 2017 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando Nov. 4.

The community was dressed to the nines as they honored the best in LGBTQ business in Central Florida.

ORLANDO | The Metropolitan Business Association celebrated 25 years, as well as the recognition of Chamber of the Year, at their annual Pride Gala Business Awards for 2017 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando Nov. 4.

Hosting again this year was the dynamic duo of Jorge Estevez and Miss Sammy who brought plenty of laughs and charm (and not to mention some pretty good dance moves).

Orlando’s 2017 Diversity Awards Gala

Please join the GLBT Center of Central Florida and the Harvey Milk Foundation as they present the “Orlando 2017 Diversity Honors”

These awards are presented to recognize those who have gone above and beyond in the pursuit of LGBTQ equality. This years honor recipients include:

Lifetime Acheivement Award – Lt. Jim Young – Orlando Police Department and Orlando PD LGBT Liaison

LGBT Ally Award – Orange County Florida Mayor Teresa Jacobs

LGBT Ally Award – The Orlando City Soccer Club

Champion of Equality Award – Barbara Poma, Owner, Pulse Nightclub

This gala will be held at the Orchid Garden on Friday, May 12 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm and will consist of a cocktail reception, four course sit down dinner, silent auction and awards presentation.

Special guest Stuart Milk, Harvey Milk’s nephew will make a special appearance and speak to the crowd in attendance. Photo opportunities with Mr. Milk will be available.

 

Stuart Milk presents Patty Sheehan with Lifetime Achievement Award

Orlando – Human rights activist Stuart Milk presented City Commissioner Patty Sheehan with a lifetime achievement award during the third annual Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast presented by the LGBT Center of Central Florida at the Orlando Museum of Art on May 11.

Sheehan was visibly surprised when she took to the stage to accept her award from Milk.
