Thompson is the writer, director and producer of MoDean Pictures’ 2007 cult classic “The Gay Bed & Breakfast of Terror,” in which he also co-stars. His independent production company exists to make films by, for and about the LGBTQ community in all genres, from comedic romances to science fiction.

What would the Hallow Season be without Spooky Empire? The Ultimate Horror Weekend took over the Caribe Royale from Oct. 26-28 providing attendees with a chillingly good time!

Convention-goers were treated to a full “X-Files” reunion featuring stars David Duchovney and Gillian Anderson, “Hocus Pocus” star Kathy Najimy posed with fans and over 200 vendors sold their delightfully scary wares.

This past weekend the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive played host to the annual spring edition of the Spooky Empire horror convention. Fans dressed-to-impress in their scariest attire to peruse the pop-culture vendors and artists selling their wares. They also lined up to get inked in the tattoo hall and meet their horror heroes Linda Blair, Tim Matheson, Peter Riegert and Matthew Lillard.

The much anticipated costume contest took place on Sunday with entrants dressing up as Bride of Chucky, Mrs. Pennywise, Ash from the “Evil Dead” franchise and Norma and Norman Bates. The coveted “Best in Show” prize was won by a trio of villains from the “Scooby Doo” animated series made flesh by the talented team of Jon Lee and Eric Leas from Bad Moon FX.

Spooky Empire kicked off its massive horror-themed convention Friday, Oct. 27 with a variety of celebrities ranging from the kids in the recent blockbuster film IT to veterans of the silver screen John Cusack and Richard Dreyfuss.

Spooky Empire brings the scares before Christmas after Hurricane Matthew forces reschedule

Spooky Empire – the leading horror, fantasy and sci-fi convention – returned to Orlando despite having to reschedule the original October dates thanks to Hurricane Matthew.

Packed with iconic horror celebrities from the legendary Elvira, a.k.a. Cassandra Peterson, to the newest kids on the block ,the cast from the hit Netflix show Stranger Things. The weekend included lots of cosplayers, and even local celeb Joey Fatone, a total fan of the genre, got in on the fun.
