Anti-gay preacher set to speak in Orlando

Orlando – Dr. Farrokh Sekaleshfar, who preaches that gay people should die, will appear at the Husseini Islamic Center for two speaking engagements March 28 and 29.

Monday’s talk is titled “Gender Roles in the Spiritual Development of the Community.” Tuesday’s talk will center on “How to deal with the phenomenon of homosexuality.”

Argentinean man who abused 6-year-old has sentence reduced because child is gay

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Two Argentine judges are under fire for reducing the sentence of a convicted child abuser on the grounds that his 6-year-old victim had suffered earlier abuse and therefore had already been traumatized.

In the newly publicized 2014 ruling, the judges cut the sentence of Mario Tolosa, a sports club vice president, from six years to 38 months. They ruled that his acts should not be considered “gravely outrageous” in legal terms because the boy already “was making a precocious choice” of his sexuality, apparently a reference to homosexuality.

Hungarian court says sentence in gay march attack too soft

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Hungary’s Supreme Court has ordered the retrial of three anti-gay protesters convicted of attacking police guarding the Budapest Pride march in 2011 because it considered the sentence too lenient.

A statement Feb. 4 from the Kuria, as the court is now called, said the sentence condemning the unidentified defendants to community service did not fit the crime in which two of them threw cans and full plastic bottles at police while a third person hit and pushed police body armor.
