‘Riverdale’ to receive award from LGBTQ education group GLSEN

LOS ANGELES (AP) | The cast and creators of “Riverdale” will receive an award from a gay rights education group for the show’s portrayal of LGBTQ relationships in a high school setting.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) announced Sept. 9 that “Riverdale” will be honored with its Gamechanger Award. The group cited the show’s “groundbreaking storytelling about LGBTQ relationships” as why it was chosen to receive the honor.

Fans question if Ariana Grande is queerbaiting in new music video

Ariana Grande has fans questioning if she is hinting at her bisexuality in her new music video for the single “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored.”

In the lyrics of the song, which appears on her latest album “thank u, next,” Grande describes her lust for her love interest who has a girlfriend. The video seems to follow the same storyline with Grande spotting Charles Milton (“Riverdale”) at the club. She appears attracted to him but notices he came with his girlfriend. The couple invites Grande to hang out with them and Grande, annoyed with their relationship, tries to get in between them.

Greg Berlanti tapped to direct Rock Hudson biopic

Greg Berlanti has signed on to direct a film biopic about actor Rock Hudson.

Deadline reports the story will be based on the memoir “All That Heaven Allows: A Biography of Rock Hudson” by Mark Griffin. It tells the story of Hudson’s struggles as a closeted actor and Hollywood heartthrob of romantic comedies for Universal during the ’50s and ’60s. He died from AIDS-related complications in 1985 at the age of 59.

‘Riverdale’ is giving Kevin Keller a boyfriend in season three

CW’s Archie-inspired show “Riverdale” casts gay character

The CW is developing a new TV series based on the long-running, popular comic book Archie and it will include Kevin Keller, the first openly gay character in the Archie universe.

The show, called Riverdale after the fictional town the Archie gang live in, will be a drama that “explores the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade,” according to the show’s producers.
