Grindr looks to end discrimination, bullying on app with new initiative Kindr

Grindr, the social networking and dating app for gay men, launched an anti-discrimination, anti-bullying initiative as a part of the app called Kindr Sept. 18.

Kindr was announced in July in a video posted to Grindr’s Instagram with audio of men talking about sexual racism and different forms of discrimination.

‘Queer Eye,’ RuPaul win big at Creative Emmys

“Queer Eye” and RuPaul scored big at the 70th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards over the weekend. The award show honors achievements in reality, documentary and variety programming.

“Queer Eye” won Outstanding Structured Reality Program, Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Structured or Competition Reality Program.

“Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown is releasing a line of bomber jackets. Brown first spilled the news in an interview with Variety. 

“It’ll be coming very, very, very, soon,” Brown told Variety. “We’re starting with a small collection, and it’s going to be unisex. It’s going to be all sorts of patterns from things that are sparkly to things that are floral to things that you can wear to work.”

Netflix has revealed the new Fab Five for its “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” revival.

The revamped cast will include designer Bobby Berk, former “Real World: Philadelphia” star Karamo Brown, who will focus on culture; Antoni Porowski, who will focus on food and wine; Jonathan Van Ness, who specializes in grooming; and Tan France, who will give fashion advice.

Many moons ago, when Will & Grace was just a child of the zeitgeist and pride parades were still scant in attendance, Bravo introduced the U.S. reality-television masses to a strange mess of a show, one that would involve five gay gentlemen remaking the life of one straight man. On paper, it was hilarious for its time, mostly because Carson Kressley – the blonde – would eat up the scenery as quickly as he would remake it. Now, Variety is reporting that Netflix, the home of shows that don’t fit on cable anymore (some of them really good, too!), has ordered eight new episodes of the quip-tastic makeover show featuring an all new cast. Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, and Jai Rodriguez will not be there to point and laugh, then. Oh, well.
