Manatee Pride holds sixth annual celebration

BRADENTON, Fla. | The Manatee Pride Festival will hold its sixth annual celebration at the Bradenton Riverwalk on March 16.

Manatee Pride, which consists entirely of volunteers, is aimed at empowering the LGBTQ community who love, live in or visit Bradenton, its nearby communities and the greater Manatee County area. It serves as a fundraiser for Prism Youth Initiative, the nonprofit dedicated to providing services and support for LGBTQ youth throughout the county since 2010.

Fourth Annual Manatee Pride to include new vendors, entertainment and signature beer

BRADENTON – Manatee County is gearing up for its fourth annual Manatee Pride on March 18 from noon to 6 p.m. at the Bradenton Riverwalk.

“Manatee Pride is a family-friendly event,” Rick Dorociak, Prism Youth Initiative secretary and Pride entertainment/concessions coordinator, says. “There is something for everyone: music, food, beer, amazing vendors, and even a splash park.”

Manatee County celebrates second annual Pride

Manatee Pride had its second outing at the Bradenton Riverwalk with an estimated 1,500 attendees on March 21.

Visitor’s were greeted by local venders and live entertainment at a Pride that looks to become an annual event.

Inaugural Manatee Pride set for March 22 debut

Bradenton – This month marks a historic first for Manatee County. The first-ever LGBT Pride Festival will be held at the Bradenton Riverwalk on Saturday, March 22. The effort, which runs from noon to 4 p.m., is organized by the Prism Youth Initiative and its executive director, Shannon Summers.

Manatee Pride hopes to accomplish two things in its inaugural year. It aims to bring the pro-LGBT community together to promote awareness and tolerance regarding LGBT issues, and identify possible board members and mentors for Prism members for the Manatee County Human Rights Ordinance Committee.
