Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, Akiva Shaffer, Chris Redd, Tim Meadows, Sarah Silverman, Maya Rudolph, Joan Cusack, Imogen Poots, Bill Hader, Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake, Will Arnett, Mike Birbiglia, Usher, Pink, Seal, Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dog, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Justin Bieber, Danger Mouse, Carrie Underwood, Nas, 50 Cent, Michael Bolton, Ringo Starr, Simon Cowell, Akon, Mariah Carrie, Adam Levine, A$AP Rocky, Mario Lopez

Popstar is three or four brilliantly stupid songs in an album full of filler. Go for the concert footage; fall asleep in between.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is Andy Samberg’s baby. After his Saturday Night live stint – where he and Justin Timberlake perfected musical numbers like “Dick in a Box” – Samberg’s career has had highs and lows. His series Brooklyn Nine-Nine just finished its third season on Fox. However, every so often, Samberg has also been stuck in crappy Adam Sandler flicks. One of his amazing – but less well-known – side projects is a great spoof band called The Lonely Island; here he and his band mates get to show that off. It’s the best part of this pop mockumentary.

Screened Out – When My Sorrow Died: The Legend Of Armen Ra and the Theremin

Documentary directed by Robert Nazar Arjoyan

This is an oddly straightforward documentary about a beguiling, off-center subject.

When My Sorrow Died pretty much tells you what it’s about in its longer title. It explored an intriguing drag personality who plays a supremely weird electronic instrument and who possesses a colorful history. Perhaps there are no technical bells and whistles the filmmaker could add, really. So, this flick is a pretty artless approach to a person full of art.

In a recent interview, legendary film director John Waters asked why isn’t anyone allowed to make fun of Caitlyn Jenner? “Caitlyn’s a Republican, she’s on a reality show and she’s a Kardashian. We can’t make fun of him or her?” Waters said the whole thing was kind of “old hat” to him. “I had a transgender woman in Pink Flamingos.” Waters said he is more intrigued by transgender men. “It seems newer to me. They look like guys I like, so it’s even more confusing.” Waters also said in the interview that fatherhood isn’t for him. “I’m a good uncle – I’ll get you an abortion, I’ll get you out of jail, I’ll take you to rehab.”

BERLIN (AP) – Germany’s main national history museum on June 24 launched an exhibition tracing 150 years of gay history in the country, including the first uses of the term “homosexual,” the brutal Nazi-era repression of gays and gradual moves toward legal equality starting in the 1960s.

The exhibition at the German Historical Museum in Berlin, which is staging it together with the capital’s privately run Gay Museum, has been four years in the planning but is opening amid a new debate in Germany over whether to allow full-fledged marriage for same-sex couples. They have been able to enter civil partnerships since 2001 but much of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative party is reluctant to go further.
