ORLANDO | Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council recognized October as LGBTQ+ History Month in the City of Orlando at City Hall Oct. 21.

“Orlando is a city for everyone! This is one of the many ways we continue to build a community that values equality and inclusion,” said Felipe Sousa Matos Rodriguez, the City of Orlando’s  Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Senior Specialist for the Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Patty Sheehan re-elected for sixth term to Orlando City Council after opponent withdraws

ORLANDO | Patty Sheehan was re-elected for her sixth term as Orlando City Commissioner for District 4 after her opponent dropped out of the race.

Sheehan is the first openly gay elected official in Central Florida, first being elected to the Orlando City Council in 2000.

Mayor Buddy Dyer: An Ally of Orlando

Orlando – Since 2003, Mayor Buddy Dyer has served as the Mayor of Orlando. But even before he took office, he was an ally for the LGBT community.

“I think Orlando is one of the most diverse and inclusive cities, and from a city government level we have strived for that,” Dyer says.
