The renowned comic actor and author of Picasso at the Lapine Agile provides a wild satire adapted from the classic German play about Louise and Theo Markes, a couple whose conservative existence is shattered when Louise’s bloomers fall down in public. Though she pulls them up quickly, he thinks the incident will cost him his job as a government clerk. Louise’s momentary display does not result in the feared scandal but it does attract two infatuated men, each of whom wants to rent the spare room in the Markes’ home. Oblivious of their amorous objectives, Theo splits the room between them, happy to collect rent from both the foppish poet and the whiny hypochondriac.

ORLANDO | Another Breast Cancer Awareness Month passed with the end of October. The events have been packed up and the pink shirts have been stowed away in the drawer for next year, but for those who have gone through living with the disease can tell you cancer doesn’t go away once the pink ribbons are put away.

“Breast cancer does not end in October,” says Robin Maynard-Harris, founder of Libby’s Legacy Breast Cancer Foundation. “You can be diagnosed any time of the year.”

Ruth Eckerd Hall on the Road presents The Psychedelic Furs at the Palladium in St. Petersburg on Thursday, October 20 at 8 pm. If you were to dissect the alternative rock dominating today’s music, you’ll find that much of it pays homage to The Psychedelic Furs. Led by vocalist and songwriter Richard Butler and his bass-wielding brother Tim, the Furs won over fans and critics alike by combining poetic lyrics, innovative rhythms and melodies driven by an aggressive, punk desperation. Through it all, the band scored major hits with Love My Way, Pretty In Pink, Heaven, The Ghost In You and Heartbreak Beat. In all, releasing seven studio albums and spawning several compilations, a boxed set and a live concert DVD. The band continues to tour around the world with a lineup that has remained the same for over 35 years.

Ruth Eckerd Hall On The Road presents GRAMMY® Award-winner Jonny Lang at The Palladium Theatre on Saturday, October 1 at 8 pm.

At the age of 16, American blues, gospel and rock singer-songwriter Jonny Lang found incredible success with the release of his major label debut album Lie To Me. Fame does not seem to have impacted him from being the same country farm boy from Fargo, North Dakota who got his start in the local clubs of Minneapolis. He survived the passage of youth to adulthood, fell in love, began a family and in the process passed through the life lessons we all endure. He has a keen sense of what he aims to achieve creatively, what music means to him and is focused on the impact that his songs bring to the lives of those that encounter his repertoire. For Lang, after the release of Fight For My Soul, he entered a chapter wherein he has found his true voice.

The path Lang has been on has brought him the opportunity to interact with some of the most respected legends in music. On the way up, he shared the stage with The Rolling Stones, B.B. King, Aerosmith, Sting and Buddy Guy.

Leon Bridges, one of the brightest new voices in music, is making his Ruth Eckerd Hall debut! The river of soul music flows on deep and strong, and 25-year-old Bridges is immersed in its life-giving current. The Forth Worth, Texas native and Columbia Records artist’s new album Coming Home was released this past summer. “I’m not saying I can hold a candle to any soul musician from the ’50s and ’60s,” Bridges says, “but I want to carry the torch.” Following the October, 2014 release of two tunes that set the on-line world aflame, and accompanied by intimate solo shows from London to Los Angeles and Nashville to New York, the singer and songwriter has proved himself a rare talent who can do smoldering ballads and elemental rock’n’roll with equal aplomb. Steeped in tradition, drenched with intention and desire, Leon Bridges’ soul music is happening here and now!

Tickets are priced at *$100, 53.25, $48.75 and $38.75
