Last month, my husband and I were heading home from his birthday dinner with a dear friend when Avril Lavigne came on the radio. This was shocking for a number of reasons.

First, because my radio was on. I tend to default to my Spotify playlist “Pimpin’ Ry Style,” an ever-expanding and eclectic collection of my favorite hits now in its second volume. Volume one, may it R.I.P., was lost when my then-boyfriend and now-husband—who still groans whenever he sees the playlist’s name—deleted it after we briefly broke up.

Singer Kehlani announced her pregnancy on social media along with photos of her growing baby bump.

“If you know me, you know I’ve dreamt about motherhood since i was very young,” Kehlani, 23, posted in the caption. “When asked what my goals are, it’s always the idea of a big healthy, happy family, and whatever comes along is a plus. I am so honored to be given this gift by spirit, creator, and an amazing partner whom I trust with my body and life after a very traumatic experience that had me afraid of interacting with men as a whole for what I was sure would be forever (I’ll tell that story when it’s time).”

Opening Ceremony puts on a festive drag show at Fashion Week

NEW YORK (AP) | Opening Ceremony, the label that always seems to find quirkier and more unusual ways to display its clothes during Fashion Week, upped the ante on Sunday with a festive drag show, featuring a surprise guest performance by Christina Aguilera and a front-row appearance by Nicki Minaj.

The event, called “The Gift of Showz,” was created by Sasha Velour, the drag performer who last year won Season 9 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” and starred Velour and a number of other prominent drag performers.

Nicki Minaj criticized for ‘homophobic’ lyrics on new album

Nicki Minaj dropped her highly anticipated fourth studio album “Queen” on Friday but the album’s release came with some controversy.

On the track “Barbie Dreams,” Minaj gives a list of all the men she’s rejected including Drake, 50 Cent and DJ Khaled. She also mentions Young Thug and says the reason it didn’t work out is because the rapper likes to wear dresses.

Ariana Grande announced her fourth-studio album “Sweetener” will be released Aug. 17. Ahead of the album’s release, Grande has already unveiled two songs from the setlist: “No Tears Left To Cry” and “The Light is Coming,” featuring Nicki Minaj.
