2017 LGBTQ Pop Culture Alphabet

It was the year of #MeToo, as this one story seemed to dominate the pop culture landscape of 2017. Victims came out saying “enough is enough” and called out their attackers and predators by name.

It was also a year of important stories being told on television and in films. We honored the voices of women, people of color and the LGBTQ community in movies like Moonlight and The Life and Death of Marsha P. Johnson, and on shows like When We Rise and Master of None. Plus we got Will & Grace back!

Rapper Lil Peep dies at 21

Rapper Lil Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, died on Wednesday night in Tucson, Ariz., of an overdose. He was 21.

Lil Peep’s friend Adam Grandmaison confirmed to the Guardian Peep was taken to the hospital following an overdose. His manager Chase Ortega confirmed Peep’s death tweeting, “I’ve been expecting this call for a year. Mother f*ck”.

Rapper Lil Peep comes out as bisexual

Rapper Lil Peep, real name Gustav Åhr, has come out as bisexual on Twitter.

The 20-year-old rapper from Long Island, N.Y. made the announcement simply tweeting, “yes I’m bi sexual.”
