New Orleans police sport ‘Pride Edition Badges’ for festival

NEW ORLEANS (AP) | The police department of New Orleans authorized a minor uniform change for an annual festival of gay culture in the French Quarter.

A department news release says that some officers will be sporting “Pride Edition Badges” during Southern Decadence, which began Aug. 29 and runs through the Labor Day weekend.

Well my friends, cheese sticks happened. That quote was from a column this summer where I was giving you, the reader, and myself tips on dating. The last column I wrote I talked about my summer of single and how I learned so much about myself. Apparently, life has a way of opening itself up and making magic happen. The summer of single is officially over. Well, according to the calendar of the Gods we technically still have a while before summer is officially over. But after Labor Day weekend, our minds shift to pumpkin spice lattes and figuring out how much weight we can lose to get into a slutty Halloween costume. That’s directly followed by figuring out how much weight is socially acceptable to gain during the Thanksgiving season. I digress.

The summer of single is officially over. For most of 2017 I have written in Watermark about my breakup, my foils and fumbles of dating and my use of gay dating apps. You know, those apps that we single people delete and then re-download every other week. I do it as well; you are not alone.

Cazwell heads to Parliament House Orlando for Labor Day Weekend

Fans and newcomers alike will be able to experience Cazwell’s sexiness in person this Labor Day weekend as he takes over Parliament House for a live performance at the club’s New York Street Party. Case dropped in Florida man accused of threatening LGBTQ community

WILTON MANORS, Fla. (AP) — Federal prosecutors are dropping the criminal case against a man accused of issuing a Facebook threat to “exterminate” gay people in South Florida.

The Sun-Sentinel reports the decision to drop the case against Craig Jungwirth comes about six weeks after prosecutors publicly acknowledged in court that the evidence against him was “weak.”
