Grand Junction, Colo. (AP) – A Colorado Mesa University assistant baseball coach has apologized for using what an investigation concluded was an anti-gay remark in front of a gay player who said he eventually left the game because of homophobia.

Sean McKinney apologized for the remark he made while talking about the 1998 murder of Matthew Shephard in front of players, including Tyler Dunnington.

LARAMIE, Wyoming (AP) – When Matthew Shepard was beaten, tied to a fence and left for dead nearly 20 years ago, his murder became a rallying cry in the gay rights movement.

Other states adopted stricter laws against violence and discrimination, and Congress passed hate crimes legislation bearing Shepard’s name.

Christian game developer creates anti-LGBT shooter game

A Christian video game developer launched an anti-LGBT, first-person shooter game on the gaming website Steam on May 4 before having it pulled down several hours later.

Randall Herman, a failed Christian shoe promoter, and Skateboarder, a California-based game developer, created and released Kill The Faggot, an online video game that awards points for shooting gay and transgender people as they run through a city street.

North Carolina man arrested in Daytona after killing gay man is a neo-Nazi

Daytona Beach – The man picked up by police on Daytona Beach for killing a print shop employee at a North Carolina community college says he’s a neo-Nazi who hates gay people.

Kenneth Morgan Stancil III told Raleigh’s WRAL-TV he killed Ron Lane because Lane had made sexual advances to Stancil’s 16-year-old brother. Lane’s cousin, Steven Smith, told that TV station that Lane never made sexual advances toward children or anyone he worked with.
