George Takei among latest celebs to be accused of sexual misconduct

NEW YORK (AP) – George Takei took to Twitter Nov. 11 to deny groping a male model and Richard Dreyfuss said he never exposed himself to a female writer helping him with a TV script, both back in the 1980s.

Takei, the 80-year-old “Star Trek” icon, said in a series of tweets that events described by Scott R. Brunton in The Hollywood Reporter “simply did not occur,” and he does not remember ever knowing Brunton.

Ridley Scott cuts Kevin Spacey from J. Paul Getty film

NEW YORK (AP) — Matt Damon walked onto the set of “The Martian” one morning to find Ridley Scott speaking into multiple walkie-talkies and directing an army of camera operators.

“He was shooting four cameras at a time. I was skeptical about it, and each frame is, like, a Ridley Scott frame — beautiful,” Damon recalled in 2015. “I said, ‘God, Ridley, each of those shots is perfect.’ He says, ‘They’ve been perfect for a long time!’”

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Hollywood’s widening sexual harassment crisis brought forth a second actor’s allegation against Kevin Spacey on Tuesday, halted production on his Netflix series “House of Cards” and prompted CBS to check into an actress’ claim she was groped by Jeremy Piven.

Mexican actor Robert Cavazos wrote on his Facebook page that he encountered Spacey at the bar of London’s Old Vic Theatre, where Spacey was artistic director, and the actor tried to fondle him against his will.

Rapp, 46, revealed to BuzzFeed that he and Spacey became acquainted while working as actors on Broadway. When Rapp was 14 years old, Spacey invited him to his apartment for a party. Spacey was 26 at the time.

“Dear Evan Hansen” and Bette Midler reigned over the 71st annual Tony Awards on Sunday raking in wins, and in Midler’s case, giving an unconventional acceptance speech.

Lin-Manuel Miranda presented the award for Best Musical to the breakout production about teen suicide. “Dear Evan Hansen” received awards for Best Score, Book, Orchestrations, Featured Actress in a Musical and Leading Actor in a Musical, totaling six awards for the night.

“Great Comet,” “Hello Dolly!” lead Tony nods

NEW YORK (AP) – “Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812,” a musical that dramatizes a 70-page melodrama at the center of Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace,” earned a leading 12 Tony Award nominations on Tuesday, which also saw nods for Bette Midler, Kevin Kline, Josh Groban, Danny DeVito and Cate Blanchett.

Groban earned a nod for portraying – in a fat suit – an unhappy husband in “Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812.” His musical will now compete for the best new musical Tony with “Come From Away,” ”Dear Evan Hansen” and “Groundhog Day.”

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil scene-stealer and Savannah legend Lady Chablis died Sept. 8, according to Club One, a Savannah, Ga. where Chablis was a performer.

“Chablis always wanted to give the audience, be it 15 or 1500, the best that she had. With her declining health, she regretted that her body wouldn’t allow her to give more,” Club One wrote in a post on their Facebook page.
