LGBTQ ally and advocate Cyndi Lauper is about to add an award from the United Nations to her already long list of honors.

The Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning songwriter and performing artist will become the first-ever recipient of The High Note Global Prize, an award honoring and celebrating major recording artists for outstanding achievement in using their music and celebrity platform to advocate for social justice worldwide.

Cyndi Lauper announces line-up for 9th annual concert to benefit homeless youth

Grammy, Emmy and Tony-winning icon and advocate Cyndi Lauper has announced the lineup for her 9th annual “Cyndi Lauper & Friends: Home for the Holidays” benefit concert, presented by Marriott International and AEG. The concert’s proceeds will benefit Lauper’s True Colors United (TCU), a nonprofit whose mission is to prevent and end homelessness among LGBTQ youth.

The event will take place in Los Angeles for the first time ever at The Novo at L.A. Live on Dec. 10. Taking the stage with Lauper and her band this year will be a host of guests including Kesha, Billy Porter, Brandi Carlisle, Henry Rollins, Carol Leifer, Lily Tomlin, Margaret Cho, King Princess and more. Emmy-winner and TCU board member Carson Kressley will return as host.

Kesha to headline Dan Reynolds’ LGBTQ festival LOVELOUD

NEW YORK (AP) | Kesha wants you to bring as much glitter as possible and sport the brightest colors of the rainbow when she visits Utah in June to headline the LOVELOUD Festival, the LGBTQ+ event founded by Imagine Dragons’ frontman Dan Reynolds.

GLAAD Media Awards 2018 releases nominees

The 29th annual GLAAD Media Awards announced its 2018 nominees at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday via Trace Lysette (“Transparent”) and Wilson Cruz (“Star Trek: Discovery”).

Netflix raked in the most nominations for television with seven nominations. ABC, CBS and NBC came in at a close second with six nominations. This was also the first time the category Outstanding Kids & Family Programming was introduced which recognizes “Andi Mack,” and “Doc McStuffins,” among others, for their LGBT inclusion.

Kesha makes strident statement with new album ‘Rainbow’

It’s been a long road back for Kesha and it’s easy to understand why she chose the symbolism of the “Rainbow” as the title for her first album in five years.

The California-based pop singer found fame with hit singles like “Right Round” (with Flo Rida), “Tik Tol,” “Take it Off,” “We R Who We R” and “Die Young.” But messy dueling lawsuits between the singer and producer/svengali Dr. Luke sidelined her for what felt like an eternity in pop music.

Orlando – Highlights from Gay Days weekend 2016 included hot weather, packed pools and a gay couple making it pop by popping the question during Kesha’s set at the One Magical Weekend main event party June 4.

According to Chris Manley, president and co-owner of GayDays.com, this year’s event was “bigger than ever,” and they sold out their official host hotel, the Doubletree by Hilton at SeaWorld, earlier than ever before.
