Sabrina Ambra

I wake-up (1) after pressing snooze on my fourth alarm for the fifth time in one hour (2). My alarm (3) goes off every .306 seconds and yet my body still manages to return to a deep sleep. Once I have gotten out of my bed (4) and untangled my feet (5) from the cord (6) attached to my vibrator, I contemplate a quick dial on the rotary phone (7).

I spend the walk to my bathroom wondering how the fuck my cat has managed to set up such an intricate obstacle course (8) during those few hours (9) I was sleeping. I dry-heave over my bathroom sink 10 for about (10) minutes while simultaneously taking the acid-reflux (11) medication my doctor (12) prescribed years ago.

Pop culture icon John Waters is well known for many things: being from Baltimore, being THE director of cult classic cinema, that ‘stache! But one thing you may not know that gets Waters excited every year is Christmas. The legendary filmmaker tells the tale of religious spectacle crossed with commercialism in his one-man show, A John Waters Christmas: Holier & Dirtier, coming to the Plaza LIVE in Orlando Dec. 8 and in Clearwater at the Capitol Theatre Dec. 16. Waters took a moment away from decorating the tree and hanging the stockings by the fireplace to talk to Watermark on the phone about his upcoming show, as well as a few other holiday topics.

In a recent interview, legendary film director John Waters asked why isn’t anyone allowed to make fun of Caitlyn Jenner? “Caitlyn’s a Republican, she’s on a reality show and she’s a Kardashian. We can’t make fun of him or her?” Waters said the whole thing was kind of “old hat” to him. “I had a transgender woman in Pink Flamingos.” Waters said he is more intrigued by transgender men. “It seems newer to me. They look like guys I like, so it’s even more confusing.” Waters also said in the interview that fatherhood isn’t for him. “I’m a good uncle – I’ll get you an abortion, I’ll get you out of jail, I’ll take you to rehab.”

Jennifer Lopez, John Corbett, Ryan Guzman, Ian Nelson, Kristen Chenoweth

With a little more self-awareness, The Boy Next Door could have been a cheese-tastic cult classic. It’s a crime that everyone here is so serious. This gravitas kills any entertainment value in what essentially should’ve been an enjoyable turd-polishing exercise, given this lousy script.

Because The Boy Next Door is definitely a turd. The boy is crappy, and so is his movie.
