Pam Bondi named as part of Trump’s impeachment legal team

Pam Bondi was named Jan. 17 as a part of  President Donald Trump’s legal team for his upcoming impeachment trial.   

Bondi will join the likes of former law professor and O.J. Simpson attorney Alan Dershowitz and Ken Starr, the former independent counsel whose investigation of former President Bill Clinton led to his impeachment, according to an anonymous source with the Associated Press.

Human Rights Campaign comes out for impeachment inquiry against Trump

The nation’s leading LGBT group has come out in favor of the impeachment inquiry against President Trump over allegations he pressured Ukraine to investigate his potential political rival Joseph Biden.

Alphonso David, the new president of the Human Rights Campaign, announced his organization’s support for the process set up by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in a statement late Friday.

LGBT groups hedge on support for Trump impeachment

Following bombshell media reports suggesting President Trump improperly made U.S. government aid to Ukraine a condition of investigating his potential political opponent Joseph Biden, LGBT groups are hedging on calling for impeachment.

Each of the LGBT organizations contacted by the Washington Blade upon release of the White House transcript of Trump’s call—which reveals the U.S. president asked Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to coordinate with Rudy Giuliani and Attorney General William Barr in the investigation—stopped short of supporting outright impeachment.

Florida LGBTA Democratic Caucus calls for impeachment proceedings against Trump

Delray Beach, Fla. | The Florida LGBTA Democratic Caucus renewed its calls to begin impeachment proceedings against Donald Trump Sept. 24.

The caucus represents the LGBTQ community to Florida’s Democratic Party. It has nearly 20 statewide chapters, including Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Polk, Pinellas and Sarasota counties.

Impeachment talk swirls after bombshell reports on Trump wrongdoing

Impeachment talked swirled Wednesday amid a week of bombshell news reports that President Trump revealed classified information during a meeting with Russian officials and potentially committed obstruction of justice by firing former FBI Director James Comey after he refused to drop his investigation of Michael Flynn’s Russia ties.

Although Trump’s opponents, including those in LGBT community, continued to use phrases like “special prosecutor” and “bipartisan commission,” the sense was palpable that Trump’s end was near if further information emerges confirming the media accounts and that corroboration may come very soon.
